My 5 year old has been struggling w/ asthma since she was an infant. We have been on steroids 3 times just since January, antibiotics at least 5 with 2 of the treatments being over 2 weeks long. She is on the high dose Dulera (not specifically approved for <12years), Singulair (just bumped her up in January from 4mg to 5 mg), and Zyrtec daily. She has many food allergies. She's been off the foo...

Hello all.  My name is Drew.  I am 38 years old, a 20 year pack a day former smoker, and yesterday I was diagnosed with COPD (predominately emphysema).  Later this month I am scheduled to have more PFT testing to find out the extent of my damage.  As of right now, I am freaking out.  I know a lot of the “self diagnosis” information on the internet can do more h...

Hi everyone.  My name is Sylvia.  My father passed away last month from brain cancer.  Three days ago my husband of 30 years was diagnosed with Stage 2 lung cancer.  I do not know what to do or what to expect.

I was at my pulmanory dr. last week.  All was fine.  But, for the past two days my sats drop when I get up and move  about.  They drop in the low 80's and it takes awhile with the oxygen to get it back in the normal range.  I try pursed breathing.  In other words is this just something that will pass.  I feel fine.   Can allergies play a part and be play...

Think about this: more than 4 in 10 people in the United States live in counties that have unhealthy levels of either ozone or particle pollution. Now think about this: in the time it took to read that, you probably took 4-5 breaths. Makes you want to know what was in that air, doesn't it?
